IRAN. MAN HANGED FOR MURDER
July 11, 2006: an Iranian man convicted of murder has been hanged in the western city of Boroujerd in Lorestan province, the official news agency IRNA reported.
"Alireza Ranjbar, charged in the killing of Mohsen Yarahmadi, was hanged in the city's prison," said local judiciary official Alireza Mohammadi, without giving details.
The hanging brings to at least 73 the number of people executed in Iran so far in 2006, according to an AFP tally based on press and witness reports. (Sources: Afp, 12/07/2006)
