MOLDOVA. MOLDOVA RATIFIES CONVENTIONS OUTLAWING DEATH PENALTY
July 29, 2006: Moldova assumed an international obligation not to apply the death penalty. The Moldovan parliament ratified the following international documents to this effect: the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights on abolishing the death penalty and Protocol No 13 to the European Convention on Human Rights on abolishing the death penalty under any circumstances.
