VELTRONI WANTS SUPPORT OF EUROPEAN MAYORS FOR MORATORIUM AGAINST DEATH PENALTY
January 17, 2007: "I want to convince the Mayors of all European cities to take a stand and keep up the battle against the death penalty,” Walter Veltroni, the Mayor of Rome, said.
He was interviewed on Radio Radicale about the proposed UN resolution for the universal moratorium on capital punishment. The resolution was initiated by the Italian Government, and is supported by the Radical Party and European parliamentarian Marco Pannella.
