PORTUGAL, MOROCCO SIGN EXTRADITION ACCORD AT RABAT SUMMIT
April 17, 2007: the Lusa News Agency reported that Portugal and Morocco ended a two day summit in Rabat with the signing of a bilateral agreement on extradition.
The long negotiated extradition accord was inked after Lisbon got assurances from Rabat that its courts would not apply capital punishment or life imprisonment to persons sentenced after being extradited from Portugal, where those forms of punishment are prohibited.
