UK. HOUSE OF COMMONS, MOTION IN FAVOUR OF MORATORIUM
April 20, 2007: a motion hailing the Italian initiative on the moratorium on capital punishment was presented to the UK House of Commons. It was signed by 34 parliamentarians and it asked the British Government to strengthen its opposition to the death penalty and to support a global moratorium. The motion, first signed by Greg Mulholland of the Liberal Democrats, was even supported by a large number of Labour parliamentarians. (Sources: Pims, 20/04/2007)
