MALAYSIA. BILL COLLECTOR SENTENCED TO DEATH
January 8, 2008: a bill collector was sentenced to death by a High Court in Malaysia for four counts of drug trafficking in 2001. Seok Hann, 35, was found guilty of trafficking in a total of 6, 725.3gm of drugs. High Court judge Justice Mohtarudin Baki stated "I did not have any choice but impose a death sentence on you. There is not a single judge who is happy to impose a death sentence. I have searched for opportunities not to impose the death sentence on you but failed." Seok was said to have committed the offence at a house in Faber Indah in Taman Desa at midnight on Sept 9, 2001.
