PA. TWO THIRDS OF PALESTINIANS OPPOSE DEATH PENALTY
September 17, 2008: in the most recent poll prepared by Dr Nabil Kukali, conducted and published by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion (PCPO), two thirds opposed the imposition of the death penalty in their home land, whilst only 28.5 % supported it.
The survey was conducted from the 1st to the 10th of September, and used a random sample of 1020 Palestinian adults representing various demographic groups in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip. Palestinian codes allow for civilians to be hanged and for members of the police or armed forces to be executed by firing squad. (Sources: www.pcpo.ps, 17/09/2008)
