SAUDI ARABIA BEHEADS TWO MEN CONVICTED OF MURDER
October 21, 2008: two men convicted of murder were beheaded by the sword in Saudi Arabia, the interior ministry said.
Omar Bin Abid Wakdani, who was executed in the Red Sea city of Jeddah, allegedly "beat his wife until she was dead following a family argument," the ministry said in a statement carried by the state SPA news agency.
It said a second execution was carried out in Qurait, in the northeast of the kingdom, where Fawzi bin Abd al-Badi was beheaded for shooting dead a fellow Saudi. (Sources: Inquirer.net, 21/10/2008)
