IRAN HANGS TWO FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
December 18, 2008: Iran hanged two men in a prison in the religious city of Qom after they were convicted of drug trafficking, the government newspaper Iran reported. The men were identified as Hossein, 37, and Esmail, 26. They were executed for drug trafficking and possessing 55g of heroin and 52kg of opium. (Sources: Straits Times, 21/12/2008)
