MOROCCO: THREE PEOPLE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR THE MURDER OF A LAWYER AND HIS WIFE
April 14, 2009: Three Moroccans were sentenced to death by a court of Meknès (120 km east of Rabat), which found them guilty of the murders of a lawyer and his wife in 2006, said the Moroccan agency MAP.
The lawyer, Hassitou Ibrahim and his wife, Maria Bennani, were murdered by two brothers, Abdelkrim and Mhamed Bouaami. They were sentenced to death with their accomplice, Aziz Akd.
A co-accused was sentenced to life imprisonment and two women involved in this case were sentenced respectively to two and a half years in prison and one year prison sentence.
Those convicted were pursued including Band establishment conspiracy, premeditated murder, mutilation of body, robbery, prostitution, adultery and complicity.
According to the accusation, the attackers introduced by breaking the homes of victims, they have slaughtered and mutilated the bodies before transporting them to Oued Cherrat, near the town of Témara, south of Rabat.
The police seized the weapons of crime and the stolen items including jewellery. (Sources: Afp, 15/04/2009)
