LIBYA: THREE EGYPTIANS EXECUTED
September 8, 2009: the Egyptian Organisation for Human Rights said that Egyptian nationals Hijazi Ahmad Zaydan, Haytham al-Shahhat Abd-al-Qawi, and Ihab Majid Muhammad were executed in Libya last month.
The Organisation said that 5 of the 35 Egyptians on death row in al-Kwafiyah prison in Benghazi, Libya, had paid blood money and received pardons from the victimsâ families. They are Farhat Abdu Farhat, Sami Fathi Abd-Rabbu, Ala Salim Rimon, Hasan Darwish and Abd-al-Halim Sayyid Abd-al-Halim. The organisation fears they will be executed. (Sources: BBC, 08/09/09)
