GAMBIA TO PUSH AHEAD WITH EXECUTIONS
October 15, 2009: Gambia will execute convicts sentenced to death for murder that have exhausted all appeals, director of public prosecution Richard Chenge said. "They will be put to death by hanging as soon as possible", Chenge said. "We are currently inspecting all the gallows in the state central prison to make sure that the facilities are functioning well," he added. (Sources: Agence France Presse, 15/10/2009)
