BANGLADESH: 4 MEN EXECUTED IN 3 JAILS
September 15, 2010: in Bangladesh, four men convicted of murder were executed in different cities at or around midnight.
In Faridpur, Mirajul Sheikh, 27, of West Kafura village under Sadar upazila, was executed for killing his wife in 2002.
In Sylhet Central Jail, Sabul Miah of Renga Daudpur village at Dakkhin Surma upazila in Sylhet and Alamuddin Swapan of Mirar Paton village at Baralekha upazila in Moulvibazar district were executed.
Jail authorities in Rajshahi executed Abu Bokkor, 43. He was sentenced to death by the Women and Children Repression Prevention Court of Natore in 2001 for murdering his wife Rongila following a dispute over dowry in February 1998. (Sources: Daily Star, 17/09/2010)
