IRAN SETS EXECUTION DATE FOR WOMAN
November 16, 2010: Iran set a date for the execution of female prisoner Shahla Jahed, the Human Rights News Agency of Iran (RAHANA) reported. The Tehran prosecutor announced that she would be hanged on December 1 at Evin prison. Shahla Jahed has been in jail for the past nine years awaiting her execution for the murder of her husband Mohammad Khani's first wife.
RAHANA also quoted the prosecutor as saying that the execution could be cancelled if the family of the victim forgave Shahla Jahed. (Sources: BBC, 17/11/2010)
