MALAYSIA: TAXI DRIVER TO HANG FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
April 12, 2011: taxi driver Shahrul Nizam Hamid, 40, of Kubang Rotan, was sentenced to death in Malaysia by High Court Judicial Commissioner Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab for trafficking 90.17gm of methamphetamine in Lebuhraya Sultanah Bahiyah on March 3, 2010.
He was charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
In pleading for leniency, defence counsel Ali Munawar Razak said the accused has two wives and three children to support.
