UGANDA: THREE CONVICTS ON DEATH ROW SURVIVE HANGMAN
October 20, 2011: in Uganda, Enoch Tumuwine, Abdu Maliyamungu and Walker Muhairwe had their death sentences commuted to jail terms by High Court Justice Vincent Kibuuka Musoke. Maliyamungu was sentenced in 2002 for attempting to use a pistol to rob Grace Nansubuga at Makerere University. Muhairwe allegedly killed Johnson Mugarura in 1998.
