SOMALIA: POLICE EXECUTE KILLER IN MOGADISHU
January 23, 2012: A soldier was executed in Mogadishu after he was found guilty of killing a fellow soldier in broad daylight, Radio Garowe reports.
The killer was executed in the police compound in the morning.
A military judge named Hassan Mungab said that Mohamed Ali was found guilty of the murder of Abdullahi Olaad by the military courts of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) of Somalia.
The military courts say that there are more than 50 people in custody who include TFG soldiers and Al Shabaab agents who have been sentenced to execution.
Ever since the establishment of the military courts by the TFG they have carried out executions although the executions were mostly TFG soldiers who committed crimes. (Sources: GAROWE ONLINE, 23/01/2012)
