USA: NEW BILLS ON THE DEATH PENALTY
January 28, 2013: As is known, the U.S. legal system provides a precise scanning of parliamentary work. New bills must be submitted within the first weeks of the year (times vary from state to state, but generally does not go beyond February). This year, to date, laws regarding the death penalty were presented in 15 states: 11 of these bills are abolitionist (Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Oregon, Texas, Washington.), 2 calling for the reintroduction of the death penalty (New York, Iowa), in one state (Arkansas) is a law in the making "neutral", which simply specifies who and how best to manage the lethal injection protocols in (but in the absence of a new law in Arkansas executions would remain suspended). In one state (Missouri) a senator said he is preparing three draft laws which restrict the use of the death penalty. (Sources: Hands off Cain, 28/01/2013)
