OKLAHOMA (USA): JAMES LEWIS DEROSA EXECUTED
June 18, 2013: James Lewis DeRosa, 36, White, was executed in Oklahoma.
He was sentenced to death in 2001 in the Oct. 2, 2000, slaying of Curtis Plummer, 73, and his wife, Gloria, 70.
Co-defendant John Eric Castleberry pleaded guilty to 1st-degree murder and testified against DeRosa in exchange for a sentence of life without parole.
DeRosa becomes the 2nd inmate to be put to death this year in Oklahoma, the 104th overall since the state resumed capital punishment in 1990, the 16th inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1336th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
