TIBET: BONINO CALLS ON CHINA TO SUSPEND THE EXECUTION OF DROLMA KYAB
September 7, 2013: "I learn with sorrow the news of the death sentence of Tibetan Drolma Kyab by the Chinese People's Court of Ngaba.
I have repeatedly expressed the belief that the path to full respect for human rights can have different times in different social contexts, but there can be no doubt on the absolute value of the protection of human life." This was stated by Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino.
“I therefore appeal to the Chinese authorities in order to suspend the execution taking into account the irreversible trend towards abolition of the death penalty in the world in the light of the approval by the General Assembly of the United Nations of the resolution for a universal moratorium signed by over 100 countries," said Bonino.
