SOMALIA: AL SHABAAB EXECUTES THREE MEN IN LOWER SHABELLE REGION
May 29, 2014: Somalia’s al Shabaab militant group has executed three men accused of being spies for the federal government of Somalia and the neighboring Ethiopia in Bulo-Mareer location, Lower Shabelle region. Two of those executed, Ali Isak Abdi and Osman Mahad Osman were accused of being Somali government spies while the third man, Marale Maallim Ali Abdirahman was accused of spying for the Ethiopian government. The three were executed at a public park in Bulo-Marer where hundreds of people gathered to witness the execution following the group’s announcement of the execution exercise.
