SAUDI ARABIA: ANOTHER PRISONER BEHEADED FOR MURDER
August 19, 2014: another Saudi national convicted of murder was decapitated by the sword in Abha, capital of Assir province, the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
Wail al-Shehri was convicted of shooting dead Meshaal Assiri during an argument.
The beheading raises to 33 the number of executions announced in the Kingdom so far this year, according to an AFP tally. Saudi Arabia has executed 15 people in the last 15 days for murder and drug trafficking, a rate of one execution per day. (Sources: AFP, 19/08/2014)
