IRAN: ANOTHER 5 PRISONERS HANGED COLLECTIVELY IN PRISON
September 2, 2015: Iran hanged five prisoners collectively in the Central Prison of Karaj, north-west of Tehran.
The five prisoners, hanged at dawn on September 2, were between the ages of 28 and 30.
Four of them were identified as Mostafa Akhundzadeh, Hossein Jalali, Majid Rezai, and Hamid Farji.
The fifth prisoner was not identified.
A statement by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raâad Al Hussein on August 5 said: "Iran has reportedly executed more than 600 individuals so far this year. Last year, at least 753 people were executed in the country." (Sources: NCRI, 3/9/2015)
