BANGLADESH: ONE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MAKING FAKE NOTES
May 4, 2016: Additional district and session judge court in Nilphamari sentenced one person to death for making fake currency note.
The convict was identified as MA Badsha Dhali, 49, son of late Wahadunnabi of Dhalagachh Munshipara area in Saidpur upazila of the district.
The prosecution in a brief is that acting on secret information, a police team from Saidpur police station raided the rented house of the accused at night on July 27, 2014 and arrested him with six fake currency notes each having value of Tk 500.
At that time he was engaged in making a lot of fake notes and police also seized fake note making machines from his possession. The investigation officer sub inspector Mr Sayed submitted charge sheet in due time with MA Badsha Dhali as the lone accused.
The honorable additional district and session judge Md Mahbubul Alam after examining the witnesses and evidences gave the verdict of his death sentence under section 25 (ka) of special power act, 1974. (Sources: dailyasianage.com, 05/05/2016)
