SAUDI ARABIA: SAUDI GETS DEATH PENALTY FOR INTERIOR MINISTRY BOMB PLOT
December 25, 2016: A specialized court in Saudi Arabia has handed a citizen an initial death sentence for plotting to bomb the countryâs ministry of interior with the help of al-Qaeda cells.
The citizen, who was unnamed in a statement released by the court, was found to be in possession of blue prints of the countryâs interior and armed forces headquarters with details on how the attack would have taken place.
He was also found to have helped al-Qaeda cells in Saudi Arabia and to have been in contact with several extremists, some of whom are convicted felons on the run after escaping from prison. (Sources: Al Arabiya, 25/12/2016)
