EGYPT: COURT OF CASSATION ENDORSES FINAL DEATH SENTENCES FOR 2 DEFENDANTS IN TERROR CASE
September 13, 2018: Egypt's Court of Cassation has endorsed on June 26, 2018 final death sentences for two defendants in a terrorism-related case. The case involved 16 defendants whose appeal against a lower court verdict had been rejected by the Court of Cassation. They were convicted of joining the Muslim Brotherhood group, designated a terrorist organisation, and forming a terrorist cell in the Imbaba neighbourhood of Greater Cairo, as well as being involved in violent incidents.
