BANGLADESH: THREE GET DEATH PENALTY FOR KILLING MOTHER, SON IN RAJSHASHAI
September 19, 2019: A tribunal in Rajshahi gave death penalty to three people for killing a woman and her son in 2014, bangladeshpost.net reported on 18 September 2019. Rajshahi Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Anup Kumar passed the order around 11:30am. The condemned convicts are: Abul Hossain Master, 52, Habibur Rahman, 40, and suspended Border Guard Bangladesh member Abdur Razzak, 35. The tribunal also sentenced four others to life term imprisonment. They are: Abdullah Al Kafi, 22, Ruhul Amin, 30, Rustam Ali, 26, and Manir, 23. According to the case statement, Aklima Begum, 45, and her son Jahid Hasan, 25, were slaughtered at their house at Deula village in Bagmara Upazila on 14 November 2014. Aklima's elder son Dulal Hossain filed a case with Bagmara Police Station accusing some unknown people. The case was sent to the tribunal from district judge court in April this year for its disposal, said state lawyer Entazul Haque Babu.
