IRAN - Iran Protests: At least 304 Including 41 Minors Killed

November 5, 2022:

Iran Protests: At least 304 Including 41 Minors Killed/At Least 16 People Killed in Another “Bloody Friday” in Baluchistan
The international community must support the Iranian people’s right to self-determination and prevent further loss of lives by the Islamic Republic.
At least 304 people, including 41 children and 24 women have been killed in the ongoing nationwide protests. Yesterday, security forces killed at least 16 people with live bullets in Khash in Sistan and Baluchistan province.
Iran Human Rights calls on the international community to support the Iranian people’s uprising and take immediate action to end the state violence. Director, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam said: “Fifty days after the start of the protests and more than 304 protesters killed, Iranians continue taking to the streets and are more determined than ever to bring fundamental changes. The response from the Islamic Republic is more violence. The international community must support the Iranian people’s right to self-determination and prevent further loss of lives by the Islamic Republic.”
According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, at least 304 people including 41 children have been killed by security forces in the nationwide protests so far. Of the 41 children, nine were girls and three were Afghan-nationals. The 41 children were all under 18 years of age, but have not all been verified through document evidence. Iran Human Rights is working to obtain confirmation of their ages.
Protesters have been killed in 22 provinces, with the most reported in Sistan and Baluchistan, Mazandaran, Tehran, Kurdistan and Gilan respectively.
Deaths have been recorded in Sistan and Baluchistan: 118 people; Mazandaran: 33 people; Tehran: 30 people; Kurdistan: 26 people; Gilan: 22 people; Western Azerbaijan: 21 people; Kermanshah: 13 people; Alborz: 9 people; Khorasan-Razavi: 4 people; Isfahan: 4 people; Zanjan: 4 people; Lorestan: 2 people; Markazi: 2 people; Qazvin: 2 people; Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad: 2 people;  East Azerbaijan: 2 people; Ardabil: 2 people; Ilam: 2 people; Khuzestan: 2 people; Hamedan: 2 people; Bushehr: 1 person; Semnan: 1 person.
The most number of deaths were recorded on 21, 22 and 30 September (Baluchistan’s “Bloody Friday”. November 4 was the bloodiest day this month with 16 recorded deaths.
According to official reports, dozens of protesters have been charged with the security-related charges of moharebeh (enmity against god) and efsad-fil-arz (corruption on earth) which carry the death penalty. The Islamic Republic’s history and current evidence indicate that they intend to use the death penalty as a tool of political repression to intimidate their opposition.
Numbers are a “minimum”
The numbers of deaths published are an absolute minimum. Reports of protester killings in the last few days are still being investigated. Iran Human Rights has received a high volume of reports of deaths which it continues to investigate with internet disruptions. The actual number of people killed therefore, is certainly higher.
