IRAN - Mohammad Ali Mirzaei and Mahmoud Mirzaei executed in Karaj on January 10
January 10, 2024: January 10, 2024 - Mohammad Ali Mirzaei and Mahmoud Mirzaei executed in Karaj on January 10.
The death sentences of two prisoners, Mohammad Ali Mirzaei from Nurabad, Lorestan province, and Mahmoud Mirzaei, a Turkish individual from Mianeh, were carried out in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj.
According to a report received by Hengaw, the executions occurred at dawn on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Both individuals had previously been sentenced to death by the Karaj Revolutionary Court due to drug-related crimes.
According to a reliable source, Mahmoud Mirzaei had been incarcerated for 27 years. The two prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement on Monday preceding the execution.
According to KHRN (Kurdistan Human Rights Network), Mohammad Ali Mirzaei was executed on January 9.
As of the time of reporting, there has been no announcement of these executions in government media.
