IRAN - Mehdi Cheraghi executed in Qorveh on 22 October
October 22, 2024: October 22, 2024 - IRAN. Mehdi Cheraghi executed in Qorveh (Ghorveh) Prison on 22 October.
Cheraghi, who had been on death row for around seven years, was transferred to solitary confinement on 21 October ahead of his execution.
He was initially arrested on charges of “premeditated murder” and sentenced to death after his trial.
In recent weeks, the authorities transferred Cheraghi from Sanandaj Central Prison to Qorveh Prison in preparation for his execution.
