IRAN - Update: 10 executions in Karaj on January 1
January 1, 2025: January 1, 2025 - IRAN. According to reports received by Hengaw on January 4, 10 men were executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison of Karaj on January 1.
Previous information spoke of 3, or 6 executions.
The number of executions carried out on January 1 in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj, has risen to ten, following the identification of four additional prisoners: Ammar Ahmadi, Mohammad Hossein Mohammadi-Far, Saeed Kishi, and an Afghan national named Pasha.
Mohammad Hossein Mohammadi-Far and Saeed Kishi were residents of Tehran, while Pasha, an Afghan national, and Ammar Ahmadi, a 33-year-old resident of Karaj, were also executed. Ammar Ahmadi had been arrested three years ago and sentenced to death on charges of murder.
Previously, Hengaw reported the execution of Ali Vahdani, Hassan Vahdani, and Shahram Mahdavi. In addition to these individuals, three others were executed, including a 22-year-old named Arshia, an Afghan national named Amin, and another prisoner whose identity remains unknown.
Of the ten executions carried out, Iranian state-affiliated media and judiciary outlets have only announced three. The remaining seven executions have not been publicly acknowledged.
