IRAN: FIVE PRISONERS HANGED IN URMIA AND SEMNAN

at least five prisoners have been hanged in Iran in recent days.
According to unofficial sources four prisoners were hanged on May 13 in the prison of Urmia (West Azerbaijan, northwestern Iran). Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported that the prisoners were identified as “Mohammad Jalili Ayan, Vahid Pajohideh, Ghader Anbari and Aslan Amoui Milan. All the four prisoners were convicted of murder and sentenced to qesas.
Ayan, 37 years old, from the city of Salmas had been sentenced to death on charge of murder and rape by the branch 2 of the Salmas court has been hanged without his family or lawyer being informed.
On May 15 one prisoner was hanged in the prison of Semnan (northern Iran), reported the official website of the Iranian Judiciary in Semnan.
The prisoner was identified as “A. S.” and was convicted of murder and sentenced to qisas (retribution).
