IRAN. YOUNG MAN PUBLICLY HANGED IN NORTH OF COUNTRY
November 8, 2005: a young man was publicly hanged in the northern Iranian town of Sari, a semi-official daily reported.
Ahmad Norouzian, 22, was publicly hanged in Khazar Square, the hard-line daily Kayhan wrote.
Norouzian was accused of rape and his sentence had been upheld by Iranâs State Supreme Court and approved by the countryâs Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi. (Sources: Iran Focus, 08/11/2005)
