FIDH ASKS NOT TO EXECUTE SADDAM
December 27, 2006: the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) has asked Mr. Jalal Talabani, President of Iraq and the Iraqi Government not to ratify the Appeals Court’s decision to execute Saddam Hussein and requested a moratorium on the death penalty in Iraq. In the letter, the Paris based FIDH expressed “once again its opposition to death penalty in any circumstance anywhere.” (Sources: Afp, APCom, 27/12/06)
