IRAN. TWO HANGED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
April 30, 2008: Iran hanged two men convicted of drug trafficking in a prison in the central city of Qom, the Fars news agency reported.
The pair, identified only as A. M. and K. N., were arrested in November 2006 on suspicion of dealing drugs on the street.
"After the arrest, some 360gms of heroin were confiscated from their homes," the head of the public relations department of Qom's prosecution office, Hadi Torshizi, was quoted as saying.
It was the second report of executions for drug trafficking at Qom prison in three days. (Sources: Agence France Presse, 30/04/2008)
