ETHIOPIA. HIGH COURT CONDEMNS EIGHT TO DEATH OVER 2007 BOMB BLAST
May 20, 2008: the Somali Regional State High Court in Jijiga, Ethiopia, sentenced eight culprits to death for killing and wounding innocent people. The president of state's Supreme Court, Abdullahi Aden, told the Ethiopian News Agency that the court found the culprits killed and wounded innocent civilians gathered to celebrate the 16th anniversary of May 28 Victory Day in Jijiga in 2007.
The culprits allegedly tried to assassinate the chief of the Somali Regional State Administration, Abdullahi Hasan. They killed innocent civilians in Jijiga, Degeh Bur, Hobole and other localities of the state using illegal arms.
