IRAN. MAN HANGED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
October 6, 2008: a convicted drug trafficker was hanged in prison in the northern Iranian city of Hamedan, Etemad newspaper reported.
It said the condemned man, named as Taher H, had already been jailed but escaped while out on prison leave and was re-arrested in possession of 242 kilograms (530 pounds) of heroin. (Sources: AFP, 07/10/2008; Iran Human Rights, 06/10/2008)
