PALESTINE: HAMAS COURT SENTENCES THREE FATAH MEMBERS TO DEATH
May 24, 2009: in the Palestinian Authority, a Hamas military court sentenced three Fatah members to death for killing two Hamas-affiliated journalists.
Two were sentenced in absentia. Judge Mohammed Nofal found the three guilty of kidnapping and killing Mohammed Abdo and Suleiman al-Ashi on May 13, 2007.
The three perpetrators were members of the presidential guard forces who were in charge of providing security for the president Mahmoud Abbas. (Sources: Xinhua, 24/05/2009)
