IRAN: ARMED ROBBER HANGED
April 13, 2010: Iran publicly hanged a man and amputated the limbs of another for armed robbery in the southern town of Mahshahr, reports the government newspaper Iran.
The two along with a third man had resorted to hijacking trucks and stealing their shipments, the report said.
The man executed in a public square in Mahshahr was identified as Adnan Alboali, 28.
"The amputation of a hand and leg of the other member of the group was carried out in prison," Mahshahr prosecutor Reza Abolhasani told the paper without giving further details. (Sources: Afp, 14/04/2010; Iran Human Rights)
