ETHIOPIA: OFFICIAL GETS DEATH SENTENCE FOR SUPPORTING REBELS
June 16, 2010: the Ethiopian Federal High Court sentenced former regional official Jemua Ruphael Amen to death for murder and supporting an Eritrean-backed terror group.
The state-run Ethiopian News Agency cited a statement from the Ministry of Justice that said Jemua murdered "three innocent civilians" and formed a separatist movement in Benishangul Gumuz state and was carrying out terrorist attacks there with the Eritrean government.
