MALAYSIA: IRANIAN GETS DEATH FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
February 1, 2011: Malaysian High Court Justice Abdul Rahim Uda sentenced iranian taxi driver Alihosseinzadeh Bashir, 35, to death for trafficking 540.9gm of methaphetamine at the KL International Airport on December 26, 2009.
The court also found Alihosseinzadehâs testimony irrational, as the taxi driver said he was told by a third party to âcarry diamondsâ into the country.
Justice Abdul Rahim pointed out that the drugs were hidden in three separate compartments specifically sewn on a luggage and a jacket worn by the accused. (Sources: The Star, 02/02/2011)
