IRAN: 10 HANGED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
February 7, 2011: According to reports from reliable sources in Iran, ten people were hanged in Vakilabad prison of Mashhad, northeast of Iran.
According to these reports five of those executed were Afghan citizens, while the others were Iranians.
All the prisoners were allegedly convicted of drug trafficking. The executions have taken place secretly and neither the families or the lawyers of those executed were informed prior to the executions.
