PAKISTAN: TWO AWARDED DEATH SENTENCE IN TRAIN BOMB BLAST CASE
April 11, 2012: In Pakistan, announcing the judgment of Train bomb blast case, Anti-Terrorism court Bahawalpur Judge Sohail Ikram awarded death sentence on five count to two accused Javed Ali and Talib Hussain .
They were involved in blowing up a Bahawalnagar-bound Samasatta passenger train on September 26, 2008.
The Court awarded death sentence, 91 years rigorous imprisonment and confiscation of property of one of the accused Javed Ali, death sentence and 74 years rigorous imprisonment, fine of Rs.100, 000 to Talib Hussain, 17 years imprisonment and fine of Rs.50,000 to third accused Mujahid Hussain. The property of all the three accused would also be confiscated.
The train had derailed after bomb blast at Hasilpur some 95 km off the Bahawalpur. Four persons were killed and several others injured. (Sources: pakistan.onepakistan.com, 11/04/2012)
