SUDAN: THREE MEN SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING
October 15, 2012: The Nyala criminal court sentenced three men to death by hanging in South Darfur (Sudan), sources told Radio Dabanga.
The men are accused of killing two men, and injuring another, in addition to stealing the victims' cell phones, the court announced.
The court ruled the execution of Mohamed Osman Sakin al-Nadif, al-Fateh Hussein al-Hadi and Hamid Abdullah Hamed.
The suspects were sentenced for shooting and killing al-Sadiq Mohamed Haj, Haider Tayeb al-Tahir and severely injuring Mohamed Abdul Rahim.
In a separate event, the suspects are also accused of trying to steal 400.000 Sudanese pounds and 8.000 dollars, witnesses said. They explained this money belongs to a man who wons a travel agency responsible for arranging UNAMID staff's travels in al-Jumhuria district, in the center of Nyala.
