IRAN: 14 PEOPLE HANGED
February 18, 2013: 14 people have been hanged in Iran in the last days.
The official website of the Iranian judiciary in Fars Province reported that three prisoners were hanged publicly on February 17 in the Sadra city of Shiraz. The prisoners were identified as "H.A.", "Y. F." and "M. V." and were convicted of kidnapping and sodomy rape of a young boy, said the report. Age of the prisoners was not mentioned in the report.
According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA three prisoners were hanged on February 17 in the prison of Arak (Central Iran). The prisoners were identified as "A.B." (31) convicted of buying and possession of 1370 grams of Shisheh, "M. S." (26) convicted of possession of 1500 grams of heroin, and "A. F." (47) convicted of possession of 1382 grams of opium, 450 grams of shisheh and 390 grams of heroin, said the report.
On February 17, the rights group HRDAI reported that at least four prisoners were hanged in the prison of Zahedan. Iranian authorities havenât confirmed these executions yet.
One prisoner was hanged publicly on February 16 in the Gaz Square of Shiraz, reported the official website of the Iranian judiciary in Fars Province. The prisoner was identified as "A. B." (29) and was convicted of kidnapping and rape.
The Iranian regimeâs henchman hanged a man on February 16 in western city of Sanandaj. Omar Shahbazi, who was from city of Divandareh, was hanged in central prison in city of Sanandaj.
On February 15, a prisoner, Sabah Lavimi, 38, who was an Arab compatriot from Khuzistan Province, was hanged in Karoon Prison.
On February 14, a prisoner was hanged in public in southern city of Shiraz. The prisoner identified as Iman B., 29 was hanged publicly in Gaz Square of the city. (Sources: Iran Human Rights, 17/02/2013; NCRI, 16/02/2013)
