TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO: PIXIE'S KILLER SENTENCED TO DEATH
November 8, 2013: The man who raped 16-year-old Pixie Lakhan six times over four hours before strangling her with her school belt in a bamboo grove near her home, was today found guilty of her murder and sentenced to death in Trinidad and Tobago.
Convict Paul Vincent, was also found guilty of the murder of Lakhan's aunt Taramatie Toolsie, 40, which happened weeks apart in Siparia in 2005.
Pixieâs remains were found on April 22 that year, near her Spring Trace, Siparia home, a month after she went missing. She had failed to return to her Spring Trace, Siparia home after school on March 22.
The trial lasted seven months, and heard from 35 State witnesses, two of whom were deemed hostile, after they recanted some of the testimony they gave during the preliminary enquiry in the magistrates' court. (Sources: trinidadexpress.com, 13/11/2013)
