BANGLADESH: 3 OUTLAWS SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER IN BAGERHAT
April 9, 2014: A court in Bagerhat district sentenced three members of outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party (ML) to death and another to life term imprisonment for killing a fellow party man in 2005.
The condemned convicts are Shahid Sheikh, 37, son of Mannan Sheikh, Yeasin, 31, son of Jalal Supervisor of Kumarkhali village in Mongla upazila and Yeasin Hawladar, 29, son of Komlai village in Rampal upazila.
According to the prosecution, Mizan alias Nizam, a member of Purba Banglar Communist Party (ML) and son of Safiz Uddin of Kimarkhali village, was hacked to death following intra-party rivalry at Mirakhali Beribadh in Rampal upazila on June 7, 2005. (Sources: asiapostbd.com, 09/04/2014)
