IRAN: 19 PRISONERS HANGED IN TWO DAYS
January 26, 2015: 19 prisoners have been hanged in Iran in the latest days.
On January 24, seven prisoners with drug-related charges were executed in the courtyard of Minab prison, reported the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA). Hossein Heidarizadeh from Garook village and Khosro Rostami from Meshe village were among the executed who were charged with carrying and storage of 2 kilogram of drugs. These executions have not been announced by the official Iranian Media.
On January 25, twelve prisoners were hanged in two prisons for drug related charges, Iran Human Rights reported.
Ten prisoners were hanged in the prison of Kerman. Eight of them were identified as: Rahmatollah Mokhtari, Mohammad Shahriari, Ebrahim Abai, Mehri Raeisi, Mansour Behrouzi, Hassan Ramyar, Ghodratollah Roudbari, and Mohammad Karim Morad Zehi. The families of the prisoners were informed about the executions and were given the chance to meet them for the last time. According to IHR sources there have been three more group executions on 18, 20 and 22 January in the prison of Kerman. None of the executions have been announced by the official Iranian sources.
On the same day, another two prisoners were hanged in the prison of Arak, reported the official website of Iranian Judiciary in Markazi Province. They were identified as Milad Z. and Alireza A., and were charged with possession and trafficking of 2,950 grams of heroin, said the report.
