MALAYSIA: FATHER OF FIVE SENTENCED TO GALLOWS FOR TRAFFICKING 15KG OF METH
November 20, 2016: The Alor Star High Court sentenced a father of five to the gallows for trafficking 15kg of methampethamine three years ago.
Judicial Commissioner Dr Choo Kah, in passing down the sentence, said the court was satisfied that the prosecution had proven a case against the accused, Liew Kee Sin, 46, from Changlun.
Liew, a businessman, was charged under Section 39(B)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for trafficking 15,062.1 grammes of methampethamine at Shahab Perdana Bus Terminal at about 10.30am on Aug 20, 2013.
He was detained by officers from the Customs Department while boarding a bus to Kuala Lumpur. Deputy Public Commissioner with the Customs Department Putrajaya, Goh Hsiao Tung, prosecuted, while the accused was represented by lawyer G. Ravishankar. (Sources: nst.com.my, 20/11/2016)
