GAZA: DEATH SENTENCE VERDICT UPHELD FOR PALESTINIAN CONVICTED OF KILLING CHILD
November 27, 2016: A high instance court in the Gaza Strip upheld the death sentence of a Palestinian accused of having killed a child. The suspect, identified only by the initials S.Sh., was convicted of murder, kidnapping, attempted rape, and brandishing a knife outside his home for âillegitimateâ purposes. The court order was in response to the final appeal in the case, and as such is considered mandatory, based on a decision by Gaza-based legislators in May which made death sentences âobligatory after all possible appeals against them are completedâ.
